Hugo 2 introduction

Hugo, all of our little favourite troll – you do know him, right? Hugo originated in the 90´s in Denmark as a television series and instantly became popular all over the world – in over 40 countries to be more specific. This was also later adapted into multiple video games, merchandise, and various media franchise. But who is Hugo?

Hugo is a small little troll, a friendly one, who is 220 years old, which is young for a troll – and he spends his days navigating an old mine in a quest for treasure. The storyline follows him, his wife Hugolina, their children, and the enemy, evil witch Afskylia who uses magic to get her way. Both in the series and the games, the goal is to navigate through obstacles in various scenarios to reach Scylla´s Skull Cave lair to rescue the kidnapped family of Hugo. Playing the games are for many something very nostalgic, with the troll going over obstacle mini-games such as the labyrinth, the Scuba, the skateboard, the Wild River, and much, much more – until finally reaching his family to cut the ropes and save them all.

In 2016, Hugo was released as a Video Slot for the first time, bringing the nostalgia back. But today, we are about to present the amazing sequel.

We proudly present; Hugo 2 Video Slot from Play´n GO!

Hugo 2 Features

Hugo is a game filled with nostalgic symbols, animations, and features – and we will tell you all about them right now. The lower valued symbols are made out by the gold train horn, the white-red meek, the blue and black striped cap with “HUGO” written on it, the carriage filled with rocks, and the skull key. The three high valued symbols are then the three gold bullions, the sack filled with gold coins, and the big diamond. These are all worth quite a deal when landing five-of-a-kind, depending on the bet you place in the game.

Above these symbols, there are also a few extra special ones to keep a lookout for on the reels. Hugo himself is the Wild, Afskylia is the Bonus Scatter, while the beaver chopping on a branch is the Free Spins Symbol. We will tell you all about these below!

Hugo 2 Free Spins and Bonuses

Hugo 2 comes with its own deal of features, with many satisfactory ones. The main feature, however, is the Bonus Game. When you land on at least 3 of Afskylia (the evil witch) you trigger the so-called Skull Cavern Bonus.

Skull Cavern Bonus; when this is triggered, you need to choose what path to take inside the cave, with an objective to reach the treasure chamber unharmed to then unlock the treasure of Afskylia by picking the correct treasure key.

Every chosen path can award consolation prices and when at the end, finding the treasure, can award you a win Multiplier depending on how many lives you have left. These are the possible wins;

2x Multiplier is awarded when having 0 lives left

3x Multiplier is awarded when having 1 lives left

4x Multiplier is awarded when having 2 lives left

5x Multiplier is awarded when having 3 lives left

But be aware of the obstacles you can come across on the way, as they can lead to a bad end. Finding more Scatter can, however, award you more lives.

Troll Race Free Spins; the beaver can appear on reels 1, 3, and 5, and these will trigger the Troll Race Free Spins. When this happens, you are awarded 10 Free Spins, but you can trigger another 5 or 10 spins.

After the reels have stopped after every Free Spin spun, before wins are presented, there is a chance to collect between 0 and 2 wilds (the bag marked W). When 4 or more of these are collected, 4 Wilds will be applied to the reels, replacing any 4 symbols on the reels.

Hugo 2 Payout

Hugo 2 is played with 5 reels over 3 rows and additional 10 fixed paylines.

The betting range is quite wide, offering bets from €0.10 up to a maximum of €100.

Hugo 2 Graphics and Music

Everything in Hugo 2 is HUGO impersonated. The game sets in the forest we all know so well, on the train tracks leading to the cave opening and the treasures. The trees are green, the volcano is close to erupting, and Hugo is riding in his carriage in the search.

The reels are placed in front of this, made transparent, to make the backdrop pop to grant us all that nostalgia – same goes for the animations and symbols on the reels. Everything takes you back in time, and it is a bubbly feeling you get in the tummy when playing this game – at least if you were one of the many who enjoyed the Hugo quests and mini-games when younger!
